Tao Menizoo: Journey through a devastated mind

05/11/12  ||  Cobal

The reason why I hadn’t commented an industrial metal album before couldn’t be any simpler: as most of you guys out there, I’m not particularly into any industrial metal act. Why such a purposeful sub-genre has been disregarded by generations of metalheads now is beyond me; mainly for we all know there is enough music in it to build up more than one exquisite collection. Take Journey through a devastated mind, last work by French Tao Menizoo, for instance. It’s a heavy catchy album that clearly shows death, thrash and even stoner metal influences all well cooked together into a no-brainer work. I actually enjoyed listening to this beast, yet I must acknowledge I cannot remember any of the songs here. No matter how fun listening JTADM had made, I felt as though their material ain’t mature enough to be memorable. Way to go, mecs.

8/10: I’m feeling a strong eight here. It might get higher some other time, if I were high(er) too.
